The expectations are peaking in by the day with every little information on Star Trek Into Darkness emerging. The Internet is getting ablaze with every bit of information coming from the camp at “The Enterprise”. Similarly, the footage from the new trailer released couple of days has done just that – brought in a renewed excitement and speculation.
‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ is basically the follow up to the blockbuster ‘Star Trek’ released in 2009. In the4 sequel up for release in May, Captain James T. Kirk will be seen challenging the regulation set up by the Starfleet as the mysterious terrorist fugitive “John Harrison” wants to wreak havoc by bringing down the entire Federation.
When the first released was online, more emphasis on Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of the mysterious villain Sherlock. Instead, the second trailer just promises more action with less focus on Cumberbatch and a range of other scenes featuring other smaller character moments and the chase sequence of the starship as glimpsed in previous previews. Although a major part of the material in this trailer has been seen in the nine-minute IMAX preview released in December, Star Trek Into Darkness promises to be a major action-adventure blockbuster. There is also ample evidence to cite that the movie doesn’t end up to being too dark as a few shots in the trailer suggest that there is scope for comedy with the characters maintain their senses of humour intact. The teaser also goes a long way toward allaying fears that the movie could end up being far too dark and dour – the crew of the Enterprise seem to be heading into the titular dark with their senses of humour intact.
Star Trek Into Darkness is directed by JJ Abrams (Mission Impossible 3 and Super 8) and written by Roberto Orci (Fringe), Alex Kurtzman (All You Need Is Kill), and Damon Lindelof (Prometheus). The ensemble cast comprises of Chris Pine (Rise of the Guardians and Unstoppable), Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), and Karl Urban (Dredd).
Star Trek Into Darkness will warp itself into theaters on May 17th, 2013. Stay tuned for more news. We will keep you posted.
