On the 2nd of July in 1986, in the New York City, Lindsay Dee Lohan was born to Dina Lohan and Michael Lohan. She began her career at a very early age. At the age of three she was a model at the Eileen Ford Agency. She has also appeared in more than 60 television commercials. She grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island, in New York. Lindsay Lohan attended Cold Spring Harbor High School till her 11th grade, after which she started homeschooling.
At the age of 10, in 1996, Lindsay Lohan was the third actress to play Alexandra “Ali” Fowler in the series “Another World”. In 1998, Lindsay Lohan was picked by Oscar nominated writer Nancy Meyers, as estranged twin sisters in “The Parent Trap”, which was an adaption to Disney’s novel. This was Lindsay Lohan’s first feature film. After that she signed three movies contract with Disney, and then she turned to TV movies.
In the year 2000, at the age of 14, she acted in “Life-Size” and in 2002 she worked in “Get a clue”. In 2000, she also played the character of Bette Midler’s daughter in the pilot episode of “Bette”. She took a brief hiatus from acting in 2001 June.
Lindsay Lohan’s music career started in 2002, when Estefan Enterprises made a five album production deal with Lindsay in September 2002. In 2003, she had been cast opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, in another Disney adaptation of a fantasy comedy novel, “Freaky Friday”. This movie was a huge hit and critics were spellbound by her delightful performances. At the age of 13, she was 2003’s 5th hottest teen female star.
In the year 2004, Lindsay won the 2004 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Female. In the same year she was nominated for the Saturn award and Young Artist award. Lindsay then had to relocate permanently to Los Angeles due to her projects. In the same year she was the title character in the comedy, “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”. It was a Disney adaptation of the novel by Dyan Sheldon. After this movie, Lindsay Lohan’s next project was “Mean Girls”, a high school comedy drama. This earned Lindsay a status as a bankable actress. “Speak”, Lohan’s debut album was released in December 2004.
At the age of 19, in 2005, Lindsay Lohan returned to Disney for “Herbie: Fully Loaded”. It was the fifth film in the series with the anthropomorphic car Herbie. Lohan became the first person to have a “My Scene celebrity doll” released by Mattel. She was ranked number 10 in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2005 and named number 4 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2005 list. Lindsay Lohan’s second album was released in December 2005, “A Little More Personal (Raw)”. It was at the same time her parents got separated which finally led to their divorce in 2007.
In May 2006, Lohan’s next romantic comedy movie, “Just My Luck” was released. This movie received very poor reviews and it earned Lohan her fist Golden Raspberry nomination for the worst actress. In June 2006, Lindsay’s comedy film “A Prairie Home Companion” was released and in November 2006 Emilio Estevez drama “Bobby” was released which brought Lindsay favorable comments. She was also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award as a part of Bobby ensemble cast and she won an award for Ensemble Acting at the Hollywood Film Festival. She also attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. In the Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 of 2006 list, Lindsay Lohan was numbered three. She also had 13th place in the list of “100 Sexiest Women in the World”.
In January 2007, Lindsay Lohan underwent an emergency surgery to remove her appendix. She entered rehab at the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles on January 18, 2007. She was named number 1 on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 of 2007 list and was also ranked number 18 on The 20 Top Earning Young Superstars list by Forbes magazine. After two DUI arrest, on August 23, 2007, Lindsay was sentenced to one day in jail along with ten days of community service at the American Red Cross in Pomona, California. She also had to pay fines and had to attend alcohol education program.
In May 2008, she made her first screen appearance since “I Know Who Killed Me” on ABC’S television series “Ugly Betty”. Lindsay offered her services to Barack Obama’s election effort, during the 2008 US Presidential campaign, but her offers were declined. This year also, Lindsay made it to keep her name to be a part of Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list, but unfortunately from 1st rank, she dropped to 10th.
Lindsay Lohan then played the character of a woman who pretends to be pregnant in the comedy film, “Labor Pains”, in 2009. She was offered the role of Jade in “The Hangover”, but then her chance was given to Heather Graham, since Lindsay turned it down.
In 2010, she was sentenced 90 days of imprisonment, but then she was released from the Century Regional Detention Facility, after serving for 14 days. She was released due to the overcrowding in the jail. In April 2010, Lindsay Lohan was cast as adult film performer in the film, “Inferno”. In June 2010, she was seen on the Bravo television series, “Double Exposure”. Lindsay Lohan also was a part of the “Machete”, which was an action film. Again she was ordered back to jail to serve out the remaining 76days of the 90 day prison sentence in September 2010. She also had to attend weekly alcohol education classes.
On the 4th of February, 2011, Lindsay Lohan was charged for stealing a necklace worth $250,000 from a jewelry shop. She was sentenced 120 days of imprisonment and 480 hours of community services. Due the prisons being overcrowded, she was kept under house arrest. She was made to wear a tracking ankle monitor when she was in house arrest. In April 2011, Lindsay Lohan signed to act in the upcoming movie “Gotti: Three Generations” and she is also set to act in “Mob Street” which is from the same production. She was ranked 38th on the 2011 Maxim list of “Hot 100” women and also was ranked 59th in the 2011 FHM list of”100 Sexiest Women in the World”.
